LongHorn is a community-built, non-Steam distribution of Counter-Strike 1.6 that emerged from the Albanian/Kosovar CS community around 2011. Rather than being a gameplay modification, it is a precision-assembled client package — a clean Steam GCF rip combined with custom GUI, pre-bundled anti-cheat tools, multilanguage support, CSS weapon model options, zBot integration, and a custom MasterServer IP providing access to tens of thousands of non-Steam servers globally.
Over three years it evolved through four GUI versions — from the basic v1 (2011) through the polished v4 (2013) — each adding tools, fixing compatibility, expanding language support and improving the out-of-box experience for players who could not or did not use the Steam client. The build remains one of the most downloaded non-Steam CS 1.6 packages in Balkan and Eastern European markets.

UCP anti-cheat may not function correctly on Windows 8 and above. The game itself runs fine — only the UCP module is affected. For modern Windows, use the No UCP shortcut or disable UCP and use an alternative anti-cheat solution. All other LongHorn features including REVOLUTION Emulator, Dproto (LH 2013), and MasterServer connectivity are unaffected.
